Improve maternal health
 
In many countries in Africa, women have a one in 16 chance of dying in childbirth. Instead of becoming a happy day for the community, one out of 16 times, it turns to a day of mourning and heartbreak. The UN Millennium stressed that expanding access to health care information is an effective way to achieving these goals.

Smile Africa is working with local health officials to provide resources to health clinics. Since we’re in the business of supplying books and building libraries for schools and communities, it falls within our expertise quite easily to gather books, videos, DVDs  and other resources related to health, and out source qualified practitioners who can provide the training locally in Africa.
